Ladder Canyon also recognized as Big Painted Canyon is an astonishing rock formation hike located about one hour East of Palm Springs via Hwy 111!
It is found via a bumpy dirt road, but do not fret, there is a parking lot at the end!
The hike itself is incredible, yet not for the faint of heart. There is actually an alternative path that involves rope climbing as well!
The hills were formed by the movement of the plates along the San Andreas Fault line.
The path is narrow at many points, revealing surreal rays of light.

Truly God’s Vision
Monitor the weather forecast before you go and bring water, snacks and a well-behaved travel companion. Although usually dry, the hike will not be open after a period of rain due to safety reasons.
